“The Republican
Nemesis" concisely identifies what Democratic candidates have to do
to defeat the GOP slander machine. Kroeger provides a brilliant
analysis of how and why these lying, hypocrites in the GOP have been
able to cynically manipulate the emotions of voters and deceive them
into believing that no Democrat can be trusted.
Next year, if they heed Kroeger's advice, Democrats in every
Congressional district can inspire Democratic voters, win to our
side most of the swing voters, and effectively attack their Rovian
opponents. In the meantime, if they heed Kroeger's advice,
every Democrat and progressive who appears on television in the
coming weeks and months will be able to psychologically and
emotionally connect with the American people and open their eyes to
the vile hypocrisy of the GOP.
James Kroegers' editorial,
"The
Republican Nemesis" MUST BE READ, AND MUST BE E-MAILED TO
EVERY DEMOCRAT IN CONGRESS AND EVERY DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE.
I implore everyone to e-mail "The Republican Nemesis" to everyone
they know and to progressive blogs, but especially to their
Democratic senators and congressmen. I have, and starting tomorrow
I'm going to e-mail a copy to every Democrat in Congress and to
Howard Dean at the DNC.

I
read your brilliant article called "Republican Nemesis",
and though I am going to further explore the other articles on your website tonight, nonetheless I felt compelled to express compliments
to you immediately on the extremely perceptive and truly thoughtful
analysis that
is your article about the Republican Party.

I
just read your article and I think it is brilliant. It articulates
much of what I've been thinking but couldn't put together.
I'm a
Psychologist,
so I'm always interested in how Psychology is used to influence
people. I only wish the Democrats would hire someone(s) with this
kind of insight to fight back against the Republicans who are
politically savage and brilliant and don't seem to be bothered at
all by that pesky thing called conscience.

Framing is a
great intellectual theory...[but] the only way we're going to win
voters back is to win the emotional war...
I didn't think this up, someone with real
brains did, read about the

after the show.

Mr. Kroeger,
Thank you for this article.
I come from an Advertising background
and I agree with every point you raised. The Republicans are very
good at this game. I spent all of last year from March until October
working tirelessly for the Kerry campaign. There were so many times
I screamed out loud at the decisions that campaign made. They didn't
quite grasp that they were playing the "game" all wrong.

That's quite an
analysis. It seems to me to be right on target. Is there any
chance for you to be an advisor to the Democratic party or can you
direct them to a public relations individual who can really help the
progressive movement?

I agree that if
the right Democratic leaders would read this article and apply the
ideas presented here, we would be able to campaign more effectively
against the Republicans. I read this a few weeks ago when you posted
this link and have been encouraging any (politically) sensible
people I know to do the same. To be sure, Democratic leaders are
stuck in the wrong groove now, and if we don't make some major
changes we can expect more Republicans in office.

I've
just discovered your essay "The Republican
Nemesis." I'd like to thank you for making the clear link between
your rhetorical analysis and your political analysis. Your essay is
direct, clear, and persuasive. Do you have any idea if anyone in the
Democratic leadership has read it and is willing to use the
strategies you've outlined?

The Democratic
Party may or may not be able to extricate itself from its stifling
language, its self-righteousness, and the miasma of money that it is
drowning in. I am convinced, however, that if it is to succeed in
doing so, it will be by adopting the kinds of ideas and strategies
you recommend.

Wow! What a terrific analysis, Prof. Kroeger.
I'll post an excerpt on my home page today...
I will also send the excerpt to the liberal

I read The Republican Nemesis -- it
is a tremendous analysis of what went wrong and why. Partly, I think
Democrats were caught up unaware and thus, psychologically
unprepared for the kinds of onslaught heaped on them -- or they
might have done a better job in their responses. Hopefully, we all
have learned by now. A good platform and mocking and ridiculing the
Republicans (turn about) should, perhaps, be the new strategy.

Republican Nemesis
is an excellent article which clearly articulates the problems the
Dems have winning against the Republicans. It is beyond QD why there
are not more savvy Democratic strategists and why we have so few
outspoken leaders able to really play politics...
It is a must read...

Mr.
Kroeger: I found your piece to be quite interesting. I think
that many of the ideas are quite sound and effective. The notion of
contempt for the opponent and condescension for his ideas is clear
and workable.

I
read your "Republican Nemesis" piece - great work. I hope the
Democrats can get their act together on this. I have plenty of
experience with self-described "conservatives" who, when pressed,
turn
out to be "Whatever I am, I just know it isn't liberal".

Mr. Kroeger: I
have read your article, The Republican Nemesis, from a link found on
Rep John Conyer's blog. I have been so frustrated that the
Democrats have not been able to break through the Republican
party... I am so very relieved that you have
clearly stated what the "game is" and provided a clear path for
Democrats to finally "get it".
